Working as a Technical Service Engineer for KOMAREK

By

Alan Wiedmeyer, Technical Service Engineer

My name is Alan Wiedmeyer, and I am a Technical Service Engineer in the Service Department at KOMAREK. I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University and bring over 15 years of experience in diverse industrial roles, including five years dedicated specifically to briquetting applications.

In my role, I support customers throughout the entire equipment lifecycle—from machine installation and contract management to on-site service, operator training, and aftermarket support. Internally, I serve as a liaison between customers and KOMAREK’s engineering, sales, and operations teams, which allows me to stay involved in a wide range of projects and technical challenges.

What makes the briquetting industry unique is not only the equipment, but the complexity of material handling. Each material behaves differently, and even small changes in material recipes or ambient conditions can significantly impact performance. Briquetting is as much an art as it is a science, and I continue to learn new techniques with every field visit.

I am fortunate to work alongside a highly skilled and dedicated team that is committed to helping KOMAREK’s customers optimize their briquetting systems, improve reliability, and achieve long-term production success. This collaborative culture is a major reason I have been with the company for five years, and I look forward to becoming even more deeply integrated into the long-standing history of KOMAREK briquetting products.
