When we renovated our manufacturing building in Wood Dale, Illinois to 44,000 square feet, we partnered with Verde Solutions to install a photovoltaic solar energy system on our rooftop.
This system consists of 850 bifacial PV solar panels. These panels are double-sided and able to harness energy from sunlight on both sides, which can then be generated into power that our facility uses. This generates around 86% of the total electricity that our facility consumes, significantly reducing our CO2 footprint.
How significant? To put it into perspective, our photovoltaic solar energy system is reducing over 10,000 metric tons of CO2, and saving us $1.6 million in energy costs over it’s lifespan. This equates to growing over 160,000 trees in ten years, something our company is proud of contributing to. KOMAREK doesn’t believe in compromising our green initiatives in order to do exceptional work, we believe in achieving both simultaneously.
