Throughout my career, I have learned many valuable lessons. Some came from professors, textbooks, and engineering principles, but many of the most important lessons came from mechanics, specifically the skilled repair mechanics in our shop at KOMAREK.
When I started my career, I understood mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, and their common failure modes. However, working alongside the talented mechanics at KOMAREK taught me how to connect that knowledge to real-world applications. There is a difference between understanding how a machine should work and understanding why a machine failed. Disassembling machines, inspecting damaged components, and seeing the physical evidence of wear, misalignment, lubrication issues, or other failures has helped me develop a deeper understanding of the equipment.
The best solutions come from combining engineering knowledge with hands-on experience. KOMAREK’s Mechanics bring years of practical knowledge, pattern recognition, and an understanding of how equipment behaves in the field, while engineers bring analysis, problem-solving, and long-term improvement strategies.
Visiting customer facilities has allowed me to see firsthand how operating conditions, maintenance practices, and production demands affect equipment reliability. By combining these perspectives, we can improve repairs, troubleshoot problems more effectively, and provide customers with better solutions.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned at KOMAREK is that engineering and mechanics are not separate disciplines; they are partners working toward the same goal: keeping machines reliable, improving performance, and ensuring the success of the operations that depend on them.
